CRYSTAL LAKE
Theresa S. Harris graduated with a Masters Degree in Education with a focus on School Counseling from the University of Iowa in 2004.
She believes that everyone has the capacity for growth, provided they have the right tools and a supportive space to find their way. Her counseling practice is centered on a simple philosophy: identify client strengths, process emotions, focus on practical solutions, and build the self-efficacy necessary to face any obstacle.
Whether clients are working through anxiety, processing generational trauma, processing chronic health issues, religious trauma or navigating identity and neurodivergence, her goal is to walk beside you in your journey. Theresa draws on a blend of CBT, DBT, SFBT, and creative therapies—like arts-based work and bibliotherapy—to create a therapeutic experience that fits her clients!
When she’s not working, She is usually tending to her garden, working on a fiber arts project, or catching a local theatre production. Theresa believes in the power of creative expression—both inside and outside the therapeutic process.
